This one's an absolute no brainer.
XXXY + Well Rounded = Sonic Satisfaction
Also really liking the fact that the rather ridiculous 'I Can't Stop' will only be released via the vinyl.
Temple played a great set on Sunday, he really brought the vibes from start to finish. There are some real stunners in here so he has very kindly done us a tracklist. Big mix.

Have we mentioned that Hint is awesome? The long-time Brighton DJ and Producer is about to drop his new album and it is D.O.P.E. Previosly releasing on Ninja Tune this time its on Tru Thoughts and is in our books, its a bit of a winner.
He's just done the first in his serious mixes to show off what he's all about and whet your appetite for the album. Go and check it out, with original selection and flawless mixing its certainly got our attention!

Now look. they've taken the clip down. We blame you.
They only need a 100 more likes. Go on. Give them a share. It'll be worth it...

Somebody stole some hearts at Below the Line on Sunday night and it wasn't just @ukhunky...
"This sounds like a case for Murder He Wrote!"
Review the footage here... Now with added tracklisting!
Virus Syndicate's MRK1 has been at the forefront of Dubstep for years, but I think his proper talent lies in Grime. This is one of the most unique Grime tracks I've heard, the use of samples is impeccable, and the moments of silence are perfectly placed. Bravo sir, bravo
"There's a disturbing lack of Jungle on this site..."
Build Zoots Not Bombs.
Some top class stuff here from 5kinandbone5 which they have decided to put out for free download. Now, to us this seems a bit crazy, because if this came out on vinyl it would most certainly be getting copped. Serious. A massive rolling bassline, crisp 2-step beat and brain-frying synths straight from outter space.

Pick of the week: Burial - Ashtray Wasp.
I'll hold my hands up here and admit it I'm a massive Burial fanboy. He's one of the few artists that i'll buy a new release the second it comes out then wait until I can be sat in a dark room with my headphones on and eyes closed before listening to it but this one is something extra special.

Ok, so I know it’s probably bad practice to be deviating from the plan of reviewing my favorite mixtapes on only my second review but fuck it, it’s my column and I’ll do what I like, thanks. Plus this is pretty big news anyway, as it seems as though OFWGKTA’s prodigal son, Earl Sweatshirt, has returned (maybe….)
TRIM TRIM TRIM TRIM TRIM!!!!!
YES!!! The one and only Trim, Trimothy, Trimbal, Trim Van Helsing aka Lord of the Sith has just dropped a new mixtape and it's capital PENG! Chock full of seriously dope beats from the likes of Mark Pritchard, Rudekid and Balistiq, guest bars from Nico Lindsay and bare fresh shit from the man himself!!

"This weeks entry is from the elusive Rebound X. Most famous for his track Rhythm & Gash, this was released on the same record, Land of X EP. I'm pretty sure it samples the an instrumental to an Aaliyah track but I can't be sure, alot of the instrument samples definatly ring a bell from somewhere. Anyways its a massive track, and it shows that even Grime instrumentals can be sexy!"
Murder he Wrote- "Ok, so I'm a month late on this, what with it being a part of Keep Up! Records' Xmas 2011 giveaway (spot the irony?), but frankly when the track is this good who cares. Smoother than butter, deeper than your local swimming pool."
Another Valentines day freebie here (can't you feel the love...) this time from none other than smooth operator, Eliphino, who is giving away his reprise of 'More Than Me'. It's alot more subdued than the belter that you'll be more familiar with but its a gorgeous piece of music in its own right: with great gliding hi hats and dreamy synths, not to mention that heat tugging vocal.
The download is not actually that new but oh well, its definitely the appropriate soundtrack for sitting around wondering where it all went wrong...
Yes that bunch of bleeding heart nu-dubstep romantics, Love Sick Recordings, are giving away five free tracks because its Valentines day and they've got 'love' in their name. Brilliant.
But actually, theres some proper quality in here: from the spacious, soul searching 'Heartbreak'; the frantic and futuristic 'Morphing', and the uplifting 'Aftersun'. Definitely worth the 5 minutes it takes to navigate Surus' log in page....
A new feature for BTL: Nick Aka Roar, co-founder of AKA AKA ROAR is going to be doing (semi) regular reviews of his favourite hip hop mixtapes.
He's kicking it off with the first solo mixtape from Das Racist co-founder Himanshu Suri. And look, its an actual article! With more than 50 words! Could this be the start of some quality musical reportage at BTL?? Probably not as Nick does tend to write like the angry old tramp outside ASDA that you desperately try to avoid eye contact with. Still, its a start...

"I've always prefered JME's production to his vocals and this track is a perfect example. Strings, skippy hihats and big 808s, what more could you want?"
Not your usual Juke here, Stephen Farris adds an extra bit of unsettling eeriness to the classic Mike jones drawl, along with a big bad bassline and tight production. Plus its on a limited free download pon his soundcloud!

Leon Vynehall is swiftly rising up the ranks, possibly because he’s given himself a second name and possibly because he’s churning out tunes that sound like he was born in a studio. He’s kicking off 2012 with this fantastic mix for The Fat! Club, a great selection including forthcoming material such as his next release on WRHP: Mauve/ Homage. This highly anticipated EP has already been attracting alot of support and its easy to see why, both sides are absolutely brilliant.

‘Sounds like if EL-B took more drugs and listened to RnB’ - is a fairly accurate description of the latest offering from San Fran/ LA based 5kinandbone5, released on Unkown To The Unkown. A proper 2 step beat combined with a cheeky wobble (just on the right side of ‘eeuurgh’) and an infectious vocal makes this tune a brilliantly fresh sounding slice of dark garage. Also, the artwork is Dope!

Close personal internet aquaintance, locator of amusing street signs and all round slept on beatsmith The Dene Rd has been pushing buttons for years.
