Riskotheque, Kodiak, Sorele and Alors Cors had a collective realisation whilst supporting Goldffinch last week – there’s a whole lot of Pasteman on rotation at the moment. He’s on alot of beats and they all go off.

His new collaborative release with Tanka is no exception; released via Dom’s 877 imprint it’s one of our favourite bits to come from his direction so far.

Camaro on the A-side is a high-energy 808 belter; with vocals that sound like a giant has provided them, and more cowbells for good measure. The blistering percussion sounds like a gale force wind in full flow and the all consuming synth lines ratchet the tune up to it’s peak, before a beautifully spaced out groove fades in at the breakdown.

Torino is more subtle; growing softly on a slow burning beat, the funk takes hold through the percussion with soft high hats, well placed woodblock and a very tasty clap with dreamy vocals complementing the mix.

In our opinion it’s a great release that shows these two young producers showing real maturity and skill in their mix and structure. Heartily recommended.
