Loefah announces his new label: School

So now we can talk about School.

It was a good few months ago now that we heard word of Loefah’s new label,  which was said to be called ‘School’. However even as we began to weedle more information from various sources throughout the summer, Loefah stayed shtumm. When we cornered him in Brighton a few of weeks back and asked when we could talk about it: he gave a coy smile and simply replied "not yet".

Well it appears the time is now, with Fact Mag announcing the news of the first release which will be from Dusky featuring the massive Calling Me as well as tracks 'Muriel' and 'What I Do'. As they also mention, the label has alot to do with Staunch; the clubnight that has been popping off across London this year, taking in sets from Dusky, A Guy Called Gerald and Animal Youth, with Loefah and Klose One as regular residents. Loefah will be working on the label with help from his current label manager at Swamp 81, Katie Thiebaud, and Jan from ATG.

Another potential name in the mix is Klose One, the long-standing DJ has left his residency with Urban Nerds to persue his work with Staunch and is also believed to be prepping a release for the new label.

School 001 is currently slated for release in December and we’re looking forward to hearing how the label develops. Judging by the impact of DMZ and Swamp 81, School is set to become a serious imprint in the scene and once again confirm Loefah's presence as a tastemaker like no other.
